CCB Foundation

Founded in 1974, the Contra Costa Ballet Foundation is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to support lecture demonstrations, scholarships, and a regional company which offers a performing outlet for aspiring young dancers in an atmosphere of professional excellence, and to acquaint, educate and enrich audiences of all ages. The Foundation sponsors two major productions annually – Story of the Nutcracker and a Wayne King, PresidentSpring Repertory.

The Foundation also enables the Contra Costa Ballet Company to participate in various community events.  In past years, we have participated in the Walnut Creek Light parade and the Christmas event at the Broadway Plaza, presented lecture demonstrations at Sun Valley Mall, and performed excerpts of the Story of the Nutcracker at Barnes and Noble. The Foundation also sponsors lecture demonstrations at the Contra Costa Ballet Centre for local school children.

In order to encourage young men, the Contra Costa Ballet Foundation and Contra Costa Ballet Centre offer one-half tuition scholarships to its male students. The Contra Costa Ballet Foundation awards scholarships to students in the Advanced levels (6 & 7) who demonstrate a high potential for ballet as well as financial need.
