Performing is an important aspect of a dancer's training and experience. All students in the Children and Student Divisions perform in the annual Spring Showcase which features choreographed demonstrations of each class level.
The Center is the home of the Contra Costa Ballet, a pre-professional company of unusual stature. Only a few youth groups of this quality exist in America today. Company members are from the Centre's most advanced level and perform twice annually at the Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek; in December, "The Story of Nutcracker" is presented and in the Spring, a repertoire program.
Dancers work with top professionals and perform the classics of Petipa, Balanchine, Dolin and Lichine, plus exciting new works by the Centre's Directors and guest choreographers.
The Company and its activities are sponsored by the Contra Costa Ballet Foundation, a not-for-profit organization whose goal is to foster and develop the art of dance in Contra Costa County.
